The Journey

The writing of an epic fantasy

About the Author

Hello, all. My name is Aaron Morrison, and I am the author and creator of all you see here.

I am 18 years old, attending college in St. Louis, Missouri. I'm an English major, which probably comes as little surprise.

I've always enjoyed writing stories, but the desire to make a living off of it never really came to me until the end of my sophomore year of high school. I had been challenged throughout the year by a wonderful teacher to become better and better at my craft, ultimately leading me to begin work on the greatest project my mind had ever formed: a novel.

History of Saehoria

It began as little more than a rough idea. A character concept here, a loose chunk of plot there - nothing coherent, really; just a few random daydreams that began to clump together. But as time went on, I began to find characters, mostly formed, ambling about in my imagination, searching for a story to hold onto. Originally, the plot focused on the characters who would later become Actoris and Makako: a simplistic story that had been told so many times, it didn't really seem to matter much. Think Shakespeare's "Hamlet" or, familiar to many more, Disney's "The Lion King."

So I revised. I bore down mentally, changing details and adding characters. Suddenly, there's a whole plethora of new additions, including another race to the land and a twist on the traditional fantasy-genre take on magic that left me bewildered for about a week as to how I could possibly pull that bit off. But in the end, I feel the final plot is fresh and original, a work that (I hope!) will be recounted as one of the best.

The phase I'm currently on is perhaps the most daunting of all: actually writing it.
